Adolescent Inpatient Mental Health Care in Midland
When a teenager cannot be treated safely in the community, families need a clinically focused program that also understands adolescence. PBBHC's planned adolescent inpatient program will provide developmentally appropriate psychiatric care centered on safety, emotional regulation, family involvement and preparation for a return to daily life.
AvailabilityAdolescent inpatient mental health care is planned and is not currently presented as open for admission.

What to expect from planned adolescent inpatient care.
The program is intended for adolescents whose psychiatric symptoms or safety needs cannot be managed in the community. Hospital care provides a structured setting for assessment and stabilization while the treatment plan addresses the developmental, emotional, family and school-related context of the crisis.
The planned clinical focus includes emotional regulation and developmentally appropriate skills. Care will be organized around the adolescent's current symptoms, safety and readiness to participate in treatment. Final age criteria, admission requirements and the exact daily treatment structure will be published before the program opens.
Family involvement and school-support coordination are part of the planned approach because a teenager returns to relationships, routines and responsibilities beyond the hospital. Transition planning will consider what the adolescent and family may need for a safer return home when possible. Specific family schedules and education arrangements will be added after clinical and operational approval.

Receive an age-appropriate assessment
A clinical assessment will determine whether inpatient care is appropriate and whether the program can safely meet the adolescent's needs.
Coordinate admission and family communication
If admission is appropriate and capacity is available, the team will explain consent, family communication, belongings and the next steps for beginning care.
