Mental Health Services in the Permian Basin

Mental health needs can change over time. One person may need the safety and structure of inpatient treatment, while another may need an assessment, a focused day program or continued support while living at home. PBBHC is building a regional continuum so more people can receive clinically appropriate behavioral health care closer to home.

About Mental Health Services

The right level of care begins with a careful assessment.

PBBHC's current services include adult inpatient mental health treatment, adult psychiatric evaluations and specialized competency restoration. Additional inpatient, observation, outpatient, residential and specialized treatment programs are planned as part of the center's phased expansion.

Clinical need — not a search term or a diagnosis by itself — determines the appropriate level of care. The intake and assessment process considers current symptoms, immediate safety, daily functioning, treatment history and the kind of structure a person may need. Program eligibility and admission also depend on current availability and operating capacity.

Adult services for the immediate need.

Adults age 18 and older can contact intake about inpatient psychiatric care and behavioral health assessments. Court and justice-system partners may use the established referral process for competency restoration.

Opening in Phases

A regional continuum built with care.

Future services will be introduced as staffing, clinical, operational and regulatory requirements are met. Planned pages explain the intended purpose of each program without presenting it as open before PBBHC confirms availability.

Not Sure Where to Begin?

Let the intake team help identify the next step.

You do not need to choose a program on your own before calling. Intake can explain which services are currently available and whether an assessment or professional referral is the appropriate starting point.
