Longer-Term Adolescent Care

What residential treatment is intended to provide.

Residential treatment is a live-in level of care for adolescents whose needs continue beyond a short inpatient stay. It provides consistent daily structure, ongoing clinical support and a therapeutic environment while a teen works toward greater stability.

The planned program is expected to focus on sustained therapeutic structure, skill development, family involvement and coordination with education and community supports. Program length, daily schedule, clinical model and academic arrangements will be confirmed as PBBHC develops the service.

Residential treatment is not the same as inpatient hospitalization. Inpatient care is a shorter-term hospital level of care focused on acute stabilization. Residential treatment is designed for longer-term support once a teen no longer needs acute hospital care but still needs a structured live-in setting.
